Balderrama says, “I was first inspired to cook by my mother who always took great care even with the simplest meals.”

In 2000, Northern Virginia was suffering a drought of fresh, flavorful Southwestern-inspired food. The Coyote Grille set its mission to change all that and opened its first location in the heart of Fairfax, Virginia. With a one-of-a-kind fresh made menu, handcrafted cocktails, a lively dining room, friendly service, and the coolest all-season patio in Fairfax, this local favorite has elevated Southwestern food in the minds of a once-flavor thirsty community. Recently the Coyote Grille expanded its fresh flavor mission to the hungry communities in Western Fairfax County with the opening of its new flagship restaurant in Centreville.

Over the past 10 year, Coyote Grille owner Tatjana Farr has said hello over 100,000 times to guests to her popular Fairfax, Virginia restaurant. That’s a lot of good cheer and a genuine spirit that has made the Coyote Grille a fixture for great food, friendly service, and a community landmark. Farr, a Fairfax, Virginia native has combined her love of food and entrepreneurial spirit into a mainstay of the Northern Virginia landscape first with the Coyote Grille Fairfax and now with the Coyote Grille Centreville. Her community involvement and leadership have benefitted the entire Northern Virginia area as she and her staff work to support community events and local schools. Today her restaurants and growing catering business employ close to 100 people and she is working to secure a third location for a new restaurant in 2015.
“We treat everyone coming into the restaurant as a first time VIP,” says Joshua Alexander, Coyote Grille Regional Manager. And he means it. Alexander’s first time at the restaurant close to 10 years ago was as a customer. He remembers sitting down with friends and being instantly greeted by owner Tatjana Farr and her staff who “knew everyone coming through the door.” As Regional Manager, Alexander is responsible for maintaining that constant high level of service, quality of food, and neighborhood atmosphere that has secured the restaurants’ place in the community. Whether he is welcoming a crowd of regulars to lunch, a family to Sunday brunch, or coordinating Coyote Grille’s catering department, Alexander’s commitment to a great experience every time is one of the reasons customers keep coming back.
Great service is always on tap at the Coyote Grille Fairfax and Centreville but along with a tall cold beer to complement Chef Juan Balderrama’s fresh made salsa and guacamole is a selection of specialty tequilas and tequila drinks for you to explore. Margarita “purists” can choose from a selection of house and premium tequilas, or freshen the taste with a fruity margarita sour apple or mad melon anyone?
